Genre: Action, Adventure, Romance

Description: In a world divided by factions based on virtues, Tris learns she’s Divergent and won’t fit in. When she discovers a plot to destroy Divergents, Tris and the mysterious Four must find out what makes Divergents dangerous before it’s too late.

This movie is nice but I wouldn’t say it is awesome/fantastic. Why I say it nice because this movie had caught my attention with all those dangerous stunt. Especially the leaping of faith from the tall building into the large hole. At that moment, I could feel my heart at my throat, that feeling of fear totally send chills throughout my whole body. (#don’t judge. I am afraid of height)

The flaw this movie had is that the story is too easily predictable which spoil the fun as I know what going to happen in the next few minutes. There are also some useless scene in the movie like the zip-line/flying fox (high element) scene right after they finish the “capturing-the-flag” game. What for do they even do it? I don’t see the connection/link in it.

In this movie, they showcased Theo James as Four someone which have remarkable results in Dauntless and is afraid of height but when watching the movie he can just walk easily on the wire without showing any fear although he might know that it is fake because he is divergent .However I wouldn’t criticize his acting as I like his acting at some part and think it not bad

The Fault in our Stars

Director: Josh Boone

Year Released: 2014

Main Cast: Shailene Woodley, Ansel Elgort, Nat Wolff, Laura Dern, Sam Tremmel, Willen Dafoe

Genre: Romance

Description: Hazel and Gus are two teenagers who share an acerbic wit, a disdain for the conventional, and a love that sweeps them on a journey. Their relationship is all the more miraculous given that Hazel’s other constant companion is an oxygen tank, Gus jokes about his prosthetic leg, and they met and fell in love at a cancer support group.

This film is certainly for the fans of the book. Unfortunately, this review is from someone who hasn’t read the book. (Which makes it even more unbiased, yes?)

Moving on… We’ve seen many love stories in the past in the movie industry (e.g. Romeo & Juliet, Noah & Allie, Jack & Rose etc.). Here comes Hazel Grace Lancaster and Augustus Waters taking center stage and they really bring you on an amazing journey. A “sick” love story which seriously hit my feels but didn’t quite make me bawl my eyes out unlike some people. I would confidently say that I might’ve if I was watching alone. Fortunately, I wasn’t and was spared the red eyes and depressing mood. The story line was really really good in my opinion due to the fact that it wasn’t as cliché as most love stories would turn out. It still definitely had some but it’s not to be scrutinized on because clichés can never be taken away from a movie. I liked how this movie really connected with me on an emotional front because it really made me feel for the main characters. All their delightful moments as well as the depressing moments really connected with me and I would feel the same for them. The only downside to this movie is that it is too much of a fantasy. I really doubt that a love story like this could occur in real life and between 2 miserable cancer patients.

Moving on to the acting, I can’t stress how much I love Ansel Elgort’s acting. His charisma is just through the roof and I really liked his character. He was funny and charming and could see why he is a teen heart-throb. Personally, Ansel’s acting was just slightly better than Shailene’s. Don’t get me wrong, both were terrific but if I had to pick whose was better, I would choose the former. Unlike most of the other movies reviewed on this blog, this one had supporting characters which I would definitely remember as they left an impression on the film. 2 of them would be Isaac and of course, Peter van Houten. Both of them were great and I really did like watching them.

This movie is funny, very VERY emotional and I would recommend this movie to someone who indulges in romance films as this one is really one-of-a-kind.

Okay? Okay.
